Halloween Speech Therapy Activities For HANDS ON Kids!
Many of my students struggle to sit and attend to the same old speech and language therapy activities. Worksheets sometimes just don't cut it! I have gathered my all time FAVORITE "hands on" activities (Halloween edition) that help students stay engaged and motivated throughout their entire session.
For the "Crafty" Kids:
These adorable "Create-A-Character" Halloween Friends from Ready 2 Learn can be found on Amazon! I use them a lot with my articulation groups as artic drilling can get very boring (there's only so many dot or coloring activities we can do!)
Scratch activities are the perfect way for students to express themselves - now with a fun Halloween mask! I love the ones from The Funnlot Store since they are so affordable and come with 24 in a pack! These are great if you are reading stories about costumes or getting dressed up for Hallowen!
Ornaments aren't just for Christmas anymore! Liven up your speech room by having students decorate and color these cute hanging ornaments by visiting the Max Fun Store!
These light up lantern jars by Shy Lizard may LOOK complicated but they are actually SUPER EASY to put together! Each jar comes with different colored cotton and a string lights to make it "light up." I use these with my articulation students as they "place" little cards with their words/pictures of targeted sounds on them! The best part is they can take it home and
practice with mom and dad for generalization!
These cute little coffins by the Bright Creations Store are the perfect place to put words, sentences, questions, or anything else you are working on during speech! Students can decorate them with paint or markers and really make them as "cute" or "spooky" as they like!
Who needs 100 trial papers when gem keychains exist! Have students complete trials (of whatever you are working on) and add gems to create these glittery keychains! There are so many gems that you can easily make these crafts last over several speech sessions!
For the STICKER lovers:
Decorate a Jack-O-Lantern, give a Vampire a face and lot more with these Funny Face Stickers by the Moon Boat Store. Amazon has so many cute stickers or even ones dedicated to Jack-O-Lantern's alone!
Who knew cups and stickers together could make such a cute and functional craft!
For the SPORTY kids:
A fun ring toss that can provide tons of trials for articulation and language therapy! Add up all the points or use to see who can get all their rings on first!
Carnival fun brought to your speech room! Toss the bean bags to see how many the students can topple over! I love that the cans have so many different characters so also doubles as Halloween vocabulary reinforcement!
Who doesn't love a good round of Corn Hole?! This adorable Halloween version is the perfect size for small classrooms. It also folds up for easy storage! (We've all worked in closets right? LOL)
Bowling but make it cute.....I adore this cute bowling set! The best part? You don't need to wear those ugly bowling shoes to play! ;)
I love that this dart board can be hung up and easily stored! It's also super portable if you are a traveler! Some of my students need to expend extra energy and throwing these dart balls definitely help them to achieve that!
For the kids in CONSTANT MOTION:
Give those kids a real reason to get up from their seats and get their bodies moving! This adorable pin the spider on the web poster is the perfect way to get up and get engaged!
What's better than a huge Halloween coloring mat? Endless choices and possibilities lead to endless chances to elicit speech and language!
Wishing you all a Happy and Safe Halloween season!
